Habitat for Humanity (H/H) is building a house less than 1 mile from the church on Gaylord Ave. The house is for a husband and wife, their 7 children (ranging in ages from infant to 14) and a grandmother. All are currently renting a very small house. H/H is a “hand up NOT a hand out”… the families are expected to participate in the building of their own home as well as the homes of others. They, also, attend workshops on how to manage the finances of home ownership and pay mortgage payments to H/H which go toward the construction of more homes. We have reserved 2 Saturday’s (October 2nd from 12:30 – 4) and (October 16th, from 8:30 – noon) for Central to help. We are asking for:
• Workers to help build
• People to prepare lunches & snacks
• People to babysit for any Central volunteers who are working
If you are interested, please call Karen Moon at (937) 474-4698. This should be an exciting new opportunity for our church to help our community.
