WHO ARE WE NOW?

Disciples Identity in a New Millennium

November 16, 2013 – 9:00 am – 2:00 pm

Held at beautiful Camp Christian, 10335 Maple Dell Rd, Marysville, OH 43040

The history of the Stone-Campbell movement (which includes Disciples) is multi-layered and sometimes complex. After all, we call this “movement” by two names which have become rather obscure in themselves. It is a story that is both American and global; charging and retreating; bold and demurring. While understanding our past is a prerequisite to unraveling our present, we never want to leave the study of history as mere study. Instead, we endeavor to bring forward the personalities, ideas, and struggles of our faith story into contemporary dialogue about how we are called to address the challenges of today’s world. We remain fascinated by our beginnings, because the movement of God’s Spirit is evident in the formation of who we became as a people. The more pressing question for us, however, and one that becomes more important with each passing day, is Who Are We Now? Special Keynote Speaker, Rev. Dr. Glenn Thomas Carson is the President of Disciples of Christ Historical Society in Nashville, Tennessee. Glenn received his Doctor of Philosophy and Master of Divinity from Southwestern Seminary. He has served in congregations,

on college and seminary faculties, held denominational assignments, and worked in corporate settings. Ministers, Lay Leaders, Sunday School Classes, Bible Study Groups, and ALL who are interested are welcome. Registrations forms are located on the table in the Narthex or you can register online at www.ccinoh.org.
