World Day of Prayer

Friday, March 3 is the World Day of Prayer.   Church Women United web site explains that the “World Day of Prayer (WDP) is an international event that unites Protestant, Roman Catholic, Orthodox and other Christian women and men in over 170 countries in prayer. With origins in the 19th century, World Day of Prayer became an official call to prayer under its present name in 1927.”  The Worship Ministry is offering our congregation a meaningful way to participate in this day of sharing and caring around the world.  We encourage all of our congregants to commit to set aside ½ hour during the day of March 3rd between 8 am and 6 pm for prayer and meditation.  You choose the time segment as you wish and endeavor to fulfill that commitment at home or work during the day or evening.  Of course, you do not have to restrict yourself to ½ hour of prayer time.  The Sanctuary will be available for you, if you wish to pray at church, between 11 am and 3 pm on that day.  The entrance to the building by the office will be open doing that time.

Thank you for your participation is this meaningful and important event!
